Support Worker

Ibstock, United Kingdom Affinity Trust Full time

**Doing Amazing Things Together** We’re all about possibilities. Are you?**

Do you know your Hans solo from your Luke Skywalker? Do love all things Marvel or are you dedicated Disney fan?

And patience, do you have patience?

**Become a Support Worker.**

What matters to the people we support matters to us. It’s their life, their way.

We are recruiting a team to support one gentleman who lives in his own home in Ibstock. You will be working alongside him in his own home and it’s important you can connect, share interests and be interested. He is a huge Star Wars fan, loves Marvel and Disney too and enjoys getting out into the wider community. We are looking for staff who can be engaging, positive and are outgoing, who can understand how important structure and routine can be to him. Experience supporting challenging behaviours, either professionally or personally is beneficial.

You should be available to work a variety of shifts between 7am -10pm across the week and alternative weekends, including some sleep-in shifts as needed.

For this role we need you to be a driver with a full UK licence that you have held for 1 year, for insurance purposes and be willing to drive a mobility vehicle.

So, if you enjoy building meaningful relationships and think you could plan, communicate and deliver support _with_ and _alongside_ people, then this is the place for you.

**Why Join Us?** What will we do?**

We offer Wagestream - a money management app that gives you access to a percentage of your pay as you earn it, access to coaching, vouchers, discounts, cashback and more.

We provide a package of benefits that make it that bit easier to be your best and we can also support you to achieve a Level 2 diploma in Health and Social Care and pursue a career that takes on more responsibility.

**What will you do?**

Supporting people is really important but it’s not all Star Wars and Marvel. We also support people to take medication, assist with personal care, make healthy lifestyle choices and maintain their home in a way they that they feel safe, well and happy.

We’re committed to being Disability Confident and we guarantee to interview all applicants with a disability who meet the minimum criteria for the vacancy.
