Heritage Vehicle Polisher

This is a unique opportunity to join a team of master craftsmen dedicated to showcasing the beauty of heritage and classic vehicles.
We are in search of a skilled Heritage Vehicle Polisher / Detailer to contribute to the meticulous restoration and presentation of these luxurious, prestigious cars. This opportunity offers a competitive pay rate of £18.74 - £25 per hour (depending on experience) on a long-term contract basis. Working in a modern, bright, and airy facility on a Day-shift basis, Monday to Thursday (7.30am - 16.15pm) and Fridays (7.00am - 15.30pm) with the opportunity for overtime. **Responsibilities of the Heritage Vehicle Polisher / Detailer**:
**Surface Evaluation**:
- Assess the condition of the paintwork to determine the appropriate polishing method and products required.
- Identify any areas with oxidation, fading, or clear coat damage that may require additional treatment.
- Inspect the vehicle / part for any visible scratches, swirl marks, or imperfections that may need special attention during polishing.
**Polishing**:
- Choose a suitable polishing compound based on the condition of the paintwork, the type of paint, and the desired level of correction.
- Select polishing pads appropriate for the chosen compound and the level of correction required.
**Detailing**:
- Performing detailed cleaning and restoration work on various parts of the vehicle, such as chrome trim, glass, leather upholstery, wood trim, and other materials, to restore them to their original condition.
**Preservation**:
- Using specialised techniques and products to preserve the authenticity and historical integrity of heritage vehicles, ensuring that any restoration work aligns with the vehicle's specifications.
**Inspection**:
- Conducting thorough inspections to identify any areas that require attention or restoration, such as scratches, dents, rust, or other imperfections.
**Documentation**:
- Maintaining detailed records of work performed, including before-and-after photographs, product usage, and any issues encountered during the detailing process.
**Safety and Compliance**:
- Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards when handling cleaning products and operating machinery or equipment.
**Continuous Learning**:
- Staying informed about new detailing techniques, products, and technologies through training programs, workshops, and industry publications to continually improve skills and knowledge.
**Teamwork**:
- Collaborating with other members of the team to coordinate efforts and achieve the best results.
**Requirements of the Heritage Vehicle Polisher / Detailer**:
- ** Experience**: Proven experience in Polishing and Detailing vehicles. Ideally heritage, classic or high value bespoke vehicles
- ** Passion**: A deep appreciation for heritage and classic cars with a keen eye for detail.
