This is an opportunity to join our team of Library Drivers to act as a driver, delivering, collecting and sorting items from libraries around Hertfordshire on a daily basis driving a **3.5 tonne van**. With some flexibility around start times, core hours 8am -4pm Monday to Friday.

You will be responsible for ensuring the deliveries of stock and equipment are made to libraries in a timely manner during library open hours and when libraries are closed; making sure that the security alarms and protocols in each of the libraries are maintained. From time to time, this position will also assist with multi-drop deliveries to schools and health centres of leaflets and marketing materials.

Other duties will include route delivery cover, across libraries in Hertfordshire, for periods of annual leave, sickness and training within the team. The post holder will sort and prepare stock for deliveries across all routes on a daily basis, working in the loading bay area, ensuring health & safety policies are adhered to.

You should be physically fit; able to lift and carry items including library stock, furniture and equipment. The post also requires you to be a good team worker, but able to work unsupervised; with a “can do” attitude and good interpersonal skills, especially for dealing with colleagues and customers.

Within this role, you will:

- Complete deliveries and collections of all types to libraries and other sites such as schools and nursery in line with our high standards
- Operate your vehicle in a safe, legal and economical manner at all times
- Follow all safety and legal procedures
- You will be required to drive a HCC Vehicle. In light of this, the ability to drive around the County is required for this role and a DVLA check will be required on appointment.

This role plays a key part in making a difference to the residents of Hertfordshire; Everyday we make deliveries to libraries and other partners across Hertfordshire that ensure people can access and enjoy books, stock and services that enrich their lives.

**Driving Roles Only**: As part of this role, you will be required to travel to other HCC Sites/Residences either using your own mode of transport or a company car. In light of this, the ability to drive and/or travel around the County is required for this role a DVLA check will be required on appointment.
