An exciting opportunity has arisen for a new role as Head of Stores and Supply Chain within the Foundation Group Procurement Shared Service, serving George Eliot NHS Trust, South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust and Wye Valley Trust.

As the Head of Stores and Supply Chain for the Foundation Group, you will be experienced in effective leadership and managing multi-functional teams in operational time critical services across multiply locations.

You will have experience of leading a service through transformation and have expert knowledge in the development and management of integrated supply chain strategies.

George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust (GEH), South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust (SWFT) and Wye Valley NHS Trust (WVT) share the same Chair and Chief Executive and have formed a Foundation Group.

The structure of the team is based upon category and project management principles to ensure delivery of controlled category spend via catalogues and to support high value complex procurement for all organisations in the group.

The post holder will be part of the Procurement senior team and responsible for the delivery of service across all locations across the Shared Service with oversight of the Stores and Materials Management team, located across multiple sites within the Shared Service.

Lead and direct the supply chain teams in the delivery of highly cost effective, customer focused, and time critical services in support of front line patient-focused services and diverse support services throughout the Foundation Group.

Leading on the operational delivery of supply chain systems and processes to maximise benefits realisation in the supply chain, generate cash releasing savings, drive process efficiencies, service redesign and product standardisation, providing quality and value in the NHS and improving overall procurement and supply chain efficiency.

To act as an expert within the Supply Chain and Inventory Management field at a national level both within the NHS and externally advising on best practice and how to develop and put in place advanced Inventory Solutions

Identifies, and recommends, the longer-term strategy, as affects the area of responsibility, in support of the overall departmental strategy to align and integrate strategic procurement and supply chain activity and practices throughout and across the Trusts, and respective operating sites, with supporting targets, objectives and key performance criteria.

Assists the Associate Director of Procurement to establish a scalable organisational development strategy, and operating model to serve the organisation and implements within area of responsibility to ensure his/her team sustain benefits delivery for the organisation over the longer term.

Recommends and subsequently leads the implementation for complex supporting strategies, as agreed with Associate Director involving significant change management and innovative considerations to deliver or exceed against agreed targets, objectives, and KPI’s in delivery of patient care.

Strives for continuous improvement in value for money of products procured and services provided to maximise patient care and benefits; develops clinical and commercial links by way of specialist clinical/commercial interface forums.

Develops key performance targets and quality standards for area of responsibility; ensures these are fully integrated within areas of responsibility.

Leads, directs and supports the operational day-to-day management of designated service areas, maximising the use of resources, ensuring optimum staff participation, and highest quality of customer care/service.
