I am currently recruiting for a Senior IT Category Manager who will define and agree the commercial strategy for the IT category with business users and key senior stakeholders.

This position will be responsible for the delivery of all negotiations under the category; define and agree commercial strategy with business users and key senior stakeholders.

**Main outline of job**:
Lead purchasing category assigned, responsible for the delivery of all negotiations under the category; define and agree commercial strategy for category with business users and key senior stakeholders. Develop procurement plan for the category, both at tacticaland strategic level. Monitoring, development and supervision of consultants reporting to you; supporting junior teams; propose and elaborate internal development initiatives; commercial compromise and availability. Manage expectations of senior stakeholderswithin Clients and own company. Support commercial activity to look for new customers

**Responsibilities**:
1. Lead market and spend analysis
2. Develop solutions that meet the client needs and deliver committed
results
3. Document results and progress of the negotiations. Prepare executive packs for presentation to stakeholders
4. Ensure compliance in his/her projects with all processes,
procedures and policies
5. Identify and anticipate issues in the execution of the projects, identify
and implement solutions, escalate as required
6. Identify risks and escalate them to Operations Director
7. Follow risk mitigation actions & processes defined by the organisation
8. Manage commercial issues with suppliers, monitor agreements, monitor
supplier performance in line with the scope of services agreed with the
client
9. Hold meetings with clients to communicate, present and discuss the
results of each of the stages of negotiation, in order to keep the client,
supplier and the Operations Director informed of the activities and
progress of the category
10. Hold meetings with suppliers as needed
11. Advise the client of the suppliers to be selected and selection criteria
12. Be a communication channel between the client and suppliers
13. Represent the client's position with the suppliers to obtain the most
appropriate proposals for the client
14. Identify new business opportunities in existing clients
15. Performance assessment of people working with them
16. Monitor the implementation of action plans defined
17. Coach and develop team
18. Increase business penetration in existing clients
19. Support the commercial area in the sale of projects to new clients
**Education**
University graduate with relevant degree (business, economics, engineering, commerce, supply chain or similar), minimum 2.1 grade, or equivalent international university qualification, from a top UK or international institution
**Previous experience (indicate years of experience, responsibilities and type of company)**Senior role**: +6 years' experience as a strategic sourcing and / or supply chain manager, in a financial services, consultancy or procurement services provider environment, in client-facing roles, with a minimum 5 - 6 years' experience in strategicsourcing, supplier selection and negotiation
Minimum 2-3 years' experience in project management and direction with a significant number of resources
Must be able to show experience in process improvement and / or systems implementation in the procurement space, understanding of indirect spend, cost management, strategic sourcing, supplier negotiation, supplier management, online auctions
Experience in process improvement and / or systems implementation in the procurement space
**Technical Skills**
Excel Advanced
Word Advanced
Power Point Advanced
e-procurement systems
Knowledge of at least one or two of the key systems in the market such as ARIBA, SAP, etc.
**Languages**
English Fluent, plus fluency in at least one other European language will be considered an advantage
**Skills and competences**
Excellent stakeholder management, demonstrates track record of effective management of client stakeholders
Capable of leading large teams and extremely results focused.
Specialist in project management.
Able to handle complex situations under stress and an excellent communicator
Excellent communication skills, oral and written
Proven ability to effectively facilitate meetings and workshops with clients
Excellent problem solving and analysis skills, knowledge and experience implementing all standard analytical tools and methods
