Bookkeeper/payroll Clerk

Apex Business Consultants have an immediate requirement for an experienced Bookkeeper / Payroll Clerk to work in the Bridgend area. Our established client (accountancy practice) is looking to strengthen an already great team by adding an additional, experienced member of staff.
**Responsibilities**:
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks for multiple clients, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.
- Process payroll accurately and timely, including calculations, deductions, and tax withholdings.
- Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable, and receivable to maintain financial transparency.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets as needed.
- Collaborate with the accounting team to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
- Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations pertaining to bookkeeping and payroll.
**Requirements**:
- Proven experience in bookkeeping and payroll processing in an accounting firm or similar environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, Quickbooks or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of payroll procedures, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
