Job Title: Mobile Crane Hire Desk Controller
We are currently seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Mobile Crane Hire Desk Controller. As the Hire Desk Controller, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our crane hire desk and ensuring smooth coordination between customers, drivers, operators, and maintenance teams. This role reports directly to the Depot Manager and requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in IT.
**Responsibilities**:
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of all company policies and procedures.
- Communicate accidents and incidents to the health, safety & training division in a timely manner.
- Handle customer enquiries, orders, and complaints with professionalism and efficiency.
- Ensure the accurate and timely entry of data using the MCS booking system.
- Maintain and update the daybook to keep track of schedules, deliveries, and other relevant information.
- Collate driver and customer timesheets for accurate record-keeping.
- Liaise with operators, maintenance teams, and routes manager to ensure the smooth delivery of products.
- Coordinate with the service manager to ensure proper maintenance of all vehicles.
- Collaborate with the safety and training division to ensure the ongoing competence of operators.
- Utilize Microsoft Programs and other relevant software to perform daily tasks efficiently.
**Requirements**:
- Strong IT skills with proficiency in Microsoft Programs (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle customer enquiries and complaints with professionalism and empathy.
- Familiarity with crane hire or logistics operations is preferred but not mandatory.
- Prior experience in a similar administrative or coordination role is advantageous.
