We need an AWEsome Strategy Specialist to join our Strategy and Communications team at the AWE.

Location: Hybrid and flexible working, with our offices based in Berkshire between Reading, Basingstoke and Newbury with onsite parking and public transport services.

**Salary**: Starting at £35,120, however, this is very much open to negotiation if you can dazzle us with an array of AWEsome transferable skills and the competencies we are looking for.

Who we are looking for:
This is very much a role for someone who is just embarking on a career in Strategy and would like to evolve OR/ for someone who would love to work in this field and has the blend of transferable skills and the mindset we are looking for.

A typical day for a Strategy Specialist could look like this:

- Research stakeholders to support or deliver Strategic Services outputs
- Project-managing tactical activities relating to strategic development
- Reviewing materials such as presentations and posters to be used in a strategic engagement activity Producing research context, researching and information gathering on business strategies
- Providing support to the business to support understanding of strategy
- Supporting strategy and board paper development through activities such as content creation, content reviews, editing and presentation
- Co-ordination and delivery of meetings and workshops, including record capture and content production

We would like you to demonstrate or have competency of:

- Government or public sector experience is advantageous but not a deal breaker
- Presentation and report writing
- Extrapolation and collation of data
- A tolerance to working with ambiguity
- A collegiate approach
- Comfortable with being direct and getting things done
- A sense of purpose and the desire to keep learning and moving forward

You need to be willing and able to obtain and maintain Developed Vetting Clearance (funded by the AWE) in order to start with us in this role. It can take several months for clearance to come through.

This job role is suitable for hybrid working, which is an informal, non-contractual and voluntary arrangement, blending a balance of attendance in the workplace (your permanent duty station) and working from home as a personal choice. If you are successful, any opportunities for hybrid working will be discussed with you prior to you taking up your post.

Important things you need to know:

- Interviews will be scheduled for the week commencing 4th August during working hours
- Interviews will be 90 minutes on TEAMS and will include a 5-to-10-minute presentation
