**Job Title: Import Coordinator**

Our client is a leading book freight forwarding business specialising in the transportation of books from the USA to the UK. With their extensive network and expertise in the industry, we ensure the seamless import of books, enabling their clients to meet their distribution needs efficiently and effectively.

**Position Overview**:
They are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Import Coordinator to join the team. As an Import Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in managing the import process from the USA to the UK. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the smooth and timely arrival of book shipments, coordinating with various stakeholders, including suppliers, carriers, and customs authorities.

**Responsibilities**:

- Coordinate and oversee the import process for book shipments from the USA to the UK.
- Communicate and liaise with suppliers, carriers, and customs authorities to ensure timely clearance and delivery of shipments.
- Prepare and review shipping documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and customs declarations, ensuring compliance with import regulations.
- Monitor shipment status and provide regular updates to internal teams and clients.
- Manage customs clearance processes, including classification, valuation, and duty calculations.
- Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate inbound logistics, including warehouse operations and delivery schedules.
- Resolve any issues or delays related to imports, working proactively to find solutions and minimize disruptions.
- Stay up to date with import regulations, trade agreements, and customs procedures to ensure compliance and leverage potential benefits.
- Maintain accurate import records and documentation for auditing and reporting purposes.
- Assist in the development and implementation of import strategies and procedures to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

**Position Requirements**
- Proven experience as an Import Coordinator or similar role, preferably in the freight forwarding or logistics industry.
- In-depth knowledge of import processes and customs regulations, specifically related to imports from the USA to the UK.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in preparing shipping documentation.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders at various levels.

**Position Requirements**
- Salary £30,000 - £32,000 (Dependant on experience)
- Working hours are Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm.
- 28 days holiday, including bank holidays, increasing over time**.**
