What the role involves
The finance team in Alternative Airlines is developing to support the exciting expansion of the company by scaling up key business processes and reporting, and introducing the right technology and expertise in the team to ensure longevity and success for this young and ambitious company.
Our Sales Ledger Team Lead role is a new role and an important part of our next stage of growth leading a team transacting a high volume of data, combined with ensuring robust controls are in place for the processes surrounding the revenue team.
Reporting to the Head of Finance, your responsibilities will be:
- Leading a team of two to ensure that customer accounts are up to date and fully reconciled.
- Manage processes surrounding the posting of revenue, fees and chargebacks based on a high volume of bookings to merchant accounts, across multiple currencies.
- Review and reconciliation of merchant settlement reports to revenue bookings, assisting the team where there are issues and backlogs.
- Design and implement controls and processes around the sales ledger e.g. new merchant onboarding, change of settlement bank and putting through changes in commercial terms.
- Set up of new import schedules for new merchants, adapting to their reporting formats and ensuring it contains all necessary information.
- Work closely with the management accounts and commercial teams to ensure customer account terms are up to date.
- Day to day management of revenue accounts, and performance review.
Essential skills
- Experience working in a finance team as an expert in the sales ledger function.
- Experience working in a multi-currency environment.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, including vlookups, sumifs and pivot tables.
- Able to demonstrate strong communication skills
- Experience dealing with high volumes of data.
- With a curious nature, you will look to improve, change or automate processes to benefit business performance and/or efficiency.
- Experience of leading teams and using your initiative and collaborative skills to overcome issues as a team.
Desirable skills
- Work experience in e-commerce and/or using BNPL providers
