**About the store**

Specsavers in Durham first opened its doors as an optical business in 2002 before adding audiology in 2021. The store sits in a prominent position close to the most picturesque train station and is firmly embedded within the local community. The loyal and growing customer base includes members of the large local retirement community, many shoppers from the nearby Arnison retail park in addition to significant passing trade from all walks of life. Durham is a beautiful city and great place to live and work.

The Durham store boasts 5 test rooms and a dedicated audiology room with ample space to expand
- all fully equipped with the latest clinical technology including Otoscopes, Pure Tone Audiometry (PTA) and speech-in-noise tests meaning you will have everything you need to perform hearing tests to the highest possible standards. The Arnison store is almost brand new as it is only 3 years old and is in a busy retail park.

A team of over 25 dedicated and passionate colleagues call this store home, which include 10 optometry clinicians and 3 Audiology clinicians. The existing Partners are really passionate about the clinical development of the team, and as the new Audiology Director you would have the scope to advise on training requirements, introduce new specialisms and build/shape the team further as required.

**Requirements of the role**

You’ll need to be a qualified and HCPC-registered audiologist, and much more. You’ll be tenacious, committed, and passionate about changing lives through better hearing. You’ll be a leader: someone who can motivate and inspire a team, champion the vital importance of hearing, and improve patient outcomes. You’ll be ambitious and driven to exceed customers’ expectations in busy stores where they demand the best. We’re looking for a highly skilled audiologist who can put their stamp on an excellent store and take audiology services to the next level.
