Do you want to help provide more opportunities for children and families in Kingston and Richmond to access new healthy holiday activities? If so, we are looking for a Project Assistant to come in and support our dedicated Policy and Project Officer to manage our holiday activity and food programme (HAF) which has been named by our children and young people as FUEL: HAF (Feed Ur Everyday Lives). HAF is funded by the Department for Education and provides children who receive benefits-related free school meals with the opportunity to attend free activities during certain school holidays, with a hot meal also being provided.
About the role
The post holder will support the development, implementation, and monitoring of an engaging holiday activity programme during the Easter, Summer and Christmas holidays for 5-16 year olds eligible for free school meals as part of the HAF programme. Working collaboratively with partners both internally and externally to develop a broad and engaging range of provision that offer activities, nutritional education, and food to encourage children and young people to be active, eat well and have fun through the holidays. The post would involve the following:
- Supporting the day to day operational delivery of the programme including the implementation and coordination of a range of partnerships and collaborations.
- Supporting the development and delivery of a programme plan in line with funding terms and conditions.
- Supporting the effective engagement with delivery partners to ensure that systems are in place to monitor and evaluate the programme on an ongoing basis and to support the oversight of the established provider network arrangements.
- With the Policy and Project Officer, identifying gaps in provision and work with partners to develop new initiatives to provide services targeting those areas most in need.
- Supporting the monitoring and reviewing of the outputs and outcomes across the programme and the development of regular reports and updates at appropriate boards and within clear timeframes.
- Supporting the financial operations of the programme and provide financial updates as required.
About you
As a Project Assistant for FUEL: HAF, you will be passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people as well as demonstrating the following points:
- Some project management support experience.
- Experience of working in a business support capacity, providing a wide range of administrative support.
- Experience of building partnerships and relationships with a range of stakeholders.
- Experience of keeping basic records, both manual and electronic.
- Some knowledge of how to collate statistical information and reports.
