Every childhood is worth fighting for. This is our belief. It drives us. And it's the reason our Children's Services team push themselves to transform the lives of children and families - in person, in service centres nationwide, and through the knowledge they share. Join us as a Community Connector and make a contribution that means everything.

**About Blackpool Better Start**

There are many obstacles to healthy development for our children which can lead to poorer outcomes for them. The role of Blackpool Better Start is to ensure that our communities are supported to make positive changes in their parenting, take care of their children's needs, and help children achieve their full potential.

The Blackpool Better Start Partnership is one of five locations in the UK to receive funding from the National Lottery Community Fund to support initiatives in early intervention and prevention for the early years. The partnership brings together the NSPCC, Blackpool Council, NHS health organisations, Police, local parents and community organisations to collaboratively make the sustainable changes needed within services and
systems supporting early years to ensure every baby has the best start in life.

**About Blackpool Centre for Early Child Development**

Blackpool Centre for Early Child Development (CECD) is the engine room of the Better Start Partnership, the Centre ensures that the vision and ambition of the partnership is translated into action and results. The Centre gives leadership and strategic direction to the partnership and ensures that all partners are actively engaged in the delivery and co-production of services.

The Centre is a multidisciplinary team which includes, Programme and Community Development, Research and Evaluation, Communications, Business Support and Data Management. The centre is building local capacity and expertise by ensuring the latest knowledge and processes are adopted in Blackpool and the learning of what works then cascaded nationally and internationally.

The Programme and Community Development team supports early years families to access services and to inform future services. The Community Connector will engage with and connect local families with existing services aimed at promoting activities for parents and their children and support for their own physical and mental health and family wellbeing.

Join us and you'll become part of a team that cares about the work they do and the people they work with. You'll discover opportunities to grow, along with challenges and a shared purpose that'll bring the best out in you. And you'll get to find your own way to make a difference that means more, and that impacts young lives.
