Community Connector

Thank you for your interest in the post of Community Connector at Blackpool Centre For Early Child Development.

The post will have contact with families and other agencies in Blackpool and ensure that families are supported to both access services and support development of new services. The role will have a key responsibility in ensuring that parents are signposted to support in the areas of Diet and Nutrition, Social and Emotional Development and Speech and Language. Other duties will include: 

Enabling families to come together and identify their shared thoughts and then take actions that help individuals take part in early year's services and reduce family stressors. Encourage local families to become more involved in local decision making by improving their participation in the Family Hubs parent carer panels and A Better Start decision making structures. Representing the Blackpool Centre for Early Child Development and Blackpool Better Start by attending meetings and training events and distributing the messages and learning of Blackpool Better Start.

The Centre is the engine room of the Blackpool Better Start Partnership and is made up of passionate and dynamic staff from a range of backgrounds and disciplines who are committed to making a difference for babies, young children and their families in Blackpool. We pride ourselves on our use of the latest science and evidence, testing and learning how we can most effectively improve early child development outcomes and the experiences of our local communities. Our place based approach to early child development is grounded in collaborative and integrated working across our Partnership as well as longstanding relationships with a range of national and international academic institutions.
