**Pro Bono Senior Associate - 14 month Fixed Term Contract**:
Role and Responsibilities (this is a broad but not exhaustive list)
- Lead on day-to-day management of the Firm’s growing pro bono practice, seeking strategic and risk management input from the Partner and Director for Responsible Business & Pro Bono as necessary.
- Report regularly to Partner and Director for Responsible Business & Pro Bono and Senior Management on updates to pro bono practice.
- Work closely with General Counsel and Head of Compliance & Risk regarding any compliance, client care or risk management issues arising.
- Work alongside the Head of Social Impact and the Social Impact team to support the development and implementation of an ambitious Social Impact strategy at the Firm.
- Manage and supervise the work of the Pro Bono team, comprising full-time ESG/Pro Bono Trainee and Pro Bono Paralegal, as well as a Family Partner and Charities Associate who are seconded to the pro bono team for part of their week.
- Oversee tracking of firmwide pro bono KPI through regular finance reports and meet with Heads of Group and Divisional Managing Partners as needed.
- Manage ongoing pro bono matters, including:

- Ensure high standards of compliance, client care and risk management;
- Review and respond to requests and referrals for pro bono advice;
- Place pro bono projects with suitably qualified lawyers;
- Manage relationships with relevant charity and non-profit legal advice centre project partners;
- Oversee the training of lawyers at the firm for pro bono initiatives;
- Help to manage relationships between pro bono lawyers and pro bono clients.
- Manage pro bono collaborations with fee-paying clients and intermediaries of the firm.
- Work with Middle East offices to foster continued growth of pro bono projects.
- Work with potential charity partners and relevant practice groups to identify and scope new and innovative pro bono projects for lawyers at the Firm.
- Maintain existing, and build new, strong relationships with our firmwide network of Pro Bono Champions, supporting them to facilitate and increase participation.
- Undertake pro bono casework, as appropriate.
- Work closely with Human Resources and Early Talent teams to integrate pro bono within recruitment, training, appraisal, engagement, and retention strategies.
- Produce clear, creative and engaging internal communications to promote pro bono activities across the Firm.
- Raise the profile of our pro bono practice externally including:

- Work closely with Business Development, Marketing & Communications teams to draft external communications and provide input into pitches.
- Prepare submissions for relevant industry awards.
- Oversee the monitoring and evaluation of the pro bono practice, tracking impact of projects.
- Manage the Firm’s submissions to external surveys and indices.
- Represent the Firm at external meetings and events relating to pro bono.
- Manage pro bono budgets.

Qualifications and Experience
- A skilled, creative and passionate lawyer, with 5+ years PQE.
- Experience managing pro bono programmes within a commercial law firm context desirable
- Experience working on pro bono projects in a commercial law firm and/or working for an organisation providing legal aid, pro bono legal advice or pro bono clearing house services essential
- Experience working collaboratively with a diverse range of people and organisations.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and experience presenting to diverse audiences.
- Ability to perform consistently to a high standard in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent IT skills including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience producing reports and analysing data.
