The Revalidation Support Unit is a professional unit within Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) that aims to support and improve professional standards across Wales.

**Job Summary/Job Purpose**:
We are looking to appoint2motivated and enthusiastic GPs to join the team as part-time GP Appraisal Coordinators.

If you have a keen interest in the GP Appraisal process in Wales and experience of appraising / supporting others, this role will allow you to become engaged in leading the appraisal process, and further develop your own skills and expertise in the area.

**We are recruiting for the following regions**:

- Cardiff
- West Wales

The GP Appraisal Coordinator will lead a team of Appraisers and co-ordinate all GP appraisal activity in their region. This includes contributing to the recruitment, training and management of Appraisers, and addressing their ongoing learning and development needs. The post holder will also be expected to attend and contribute to a range of appraisal meetings to discuss and potentially resolve, local and national issues. The post holder will be expected to drive and enhance the appraisal process in Wales by undertaking other key responsibilities, such as, contributing to quality assurance activities and working closely with a variety of stakeholders to provide appraisal guidance and support.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

If successful at interview, you will be expected to undertake an extensive comprehensive induction led by the incumbent Appraisal Coordinators prior to the start date. These roles will commence on the1st of January 2024. Further information will be provided at the interview.
