Revalidation Support Unit (RSU)

The RSU is a professional unit within Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) that aims to support and improve professional standards across Wales. The Unit has responsibility for:
Management of the GP Appraisal Process for all GPs in Wales on behalf of the Health Boards.

Leading on Medical Appraisal Quality Management systems and providing support for Medical Revalidation.

Delivery of face-to-face CPD events, training, and online learning/resources.

Development and management of online systems to support appraisal and revalidation:
Medical Appraisal Revalidation System (MARS) - a sophisticated online appraisal platform used by over 7000 doctors, appraisers, HB managers, and Medical Directors to facilitate the annual medical appraisal process, and to support doctors and employers in meeting the requirements of revalidation.

Orbit360 - a system to facilitate multi-source feedback for Doctors as a part of their revalidation requirements.

We are looking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the RSU as a full-time permanent RSU Officer.

Full training, including an extensive comprehensive induction will be provided.

The RSU Officer for Revalidation and Quality will provide comprehensive administrative support for the revalidation and quality management work programme and provide support once a week to the RSU’s online systems service desk. They will analyse key appraisal and revalidation data and prepare all-Wales reports. They will supervise an administrator within their workstream.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
