WithYou are recruiting for an Apprentice Young Person’s Worker - if you have an interest in working with clients who struggle with substance misuse and want to join a forward-thinking, values-driven organisation, we’d love to hear from you.

Within this role you will gain experience of working alongside our schools engagement team supporting vulnerable children and young people through 1-1 and group work. As well as gaining a qualification and experience in Youth Work, you will also have opportunities to learn more about our drug and alcohol work, and access wider training and opportunities in support for your career aspirations.

This apprenticeship will provide an opportunity for learning, development and work experience and offers a supported approach to new career opportunities and further education in the drug and alcohol sector.

As part of this role, you will gain experience of the Lancashire Young Person’s treatment system, assist in assessing client needs and providing positive interventions that encourage, motivate and assist clients in addressing their substance misuse.

This is a great opportunity to learn more about providing support, information, training, education and guidance to young people, as well as working to improve access to appropriate services.

You will be compassionate and empathetic, with the ability to connect quickly with the people we support, treating them respectfully and with dignity. It’s important that you are able to work collaboratively as part of our busy team and that you have an adaptable, personable communication style, to allow you to listen, share information and give and receive support and advice.

**As part of your apprenticeship, you will undertake and complete the Level 3 Substance Misuse qualification within 6 months of joining us.** Above all, we are looking for someone who is passionate about what we do, with a positive and engaging approach to our clients

**REQUIRED SKILLS**:

- Commitment to complete Level 3 Substance Misuse qualification within 6 months of starting
- The ability to listen, share information and give and receive support and advice
Effective oral and written communication skills with ability to speak and write clearly
- To work collaboratively as part of a team
- To communicate effectively with clients, colleagues and other agencies
- Have an interest in working with drug and alcohol users
- Motivated, committed and flexible
- Demonstrates effective time management skills
- Able to meet We Are With You’s safeguarding requirements of a satisfactory Enhanced DBS certificate
- Ability to work flexible and unsocial hours as required
