Simply Books is an award-winning independent bookshop based in the heart of Bramhall, just south of Manchester. As a hub of the community for over 20 years, we are lucky to have a very engaged and passionate customer base who love what we do.

Recently, new owners have taken over the shop and are in the process of putting their own stamp on things. This role, as with all of the others we’re hiring for as part of our founding team, will be a big part of how we shape the business’ next 20 years and beyond.

We are looking for creative and hard working baristas to join our café team. Our customers are really keen for the café to reopen, with it being the thing most requested since we took over, so we’re keen to get this right and make it an integral part of Simply Books.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Welcome and take orders from customers both at the counter and at tables
- Prepare and serve a variety of drinks and food with attention to quality and presentation
- Handle payments efficiently and accurately
- Maintain cleanliness and high standards of hygiene in all areas of the café, helping to ensure compliance with food hygiene regulations
- Help to manage stock levels and assist in restocking
- Complete opening up and closing down procedures
- Contribute to the development of menu items and promotional offers
- Foster strong relationships with customers, enhancing their experience
- Process and fulfil orders received online or via phone
- Prepare drinks and snacks at book club gatherings and other regular events
- Assist in staffing special events, both in-store and at external venues, assisting with a variety of tasks from checking guests in to serving drinks
- Occasionally provide cover in the bookshop, assisting on the till and with customers
- Helping with other ad hoc tasks and special projects alongside the owners
