Selby, United Kingdom Brayton Headstart Preschool Full time

We are looking for creative fun person to join our team. You must have a warm and smiling face that makes every child within our care feel special and loved. As we are based on high school grounds, we have the luxury to use their sports field when it is not in use. Therefore, the right person must not be afraid to run and flap your arms like a bird, or play racing games with the children, possibly dressed in a tutu or some other form of dress up around the field and not feel embarrassed with potential high school students looking out of their window.

You will be required to sing out loud, and not be ashamed of your singing talents, as we for one can not sing in tune, but will still give it a go and love it You must be prepared to read stories in silly voices and re-enact some book characters to keep the children's imagination running wild and full of excitement.

All staff at Brayton Headstart are put through a unique development programme and are continually trained, coached and observed by our onsite childcare tutor and assessor who will continually support and train all staff at each level and ability. This is paramount to Headstart's success training and development.

You will be required to work as part of the team under the direction of the preschool’s management team to provide safe, high-quality education and care for young children. To maintain a stimulating and enjoyable environment always working in line with the settings policies, procedures, and development plan. You will be allocated to key children and work with your key buddies to ensure all children have a main contact at all times.

**Person specification**:

- **Great passion for child development and a good working knowledge of the EYFS.**
- **A sense of humour, common sense and 'get up and go' feel. A good singing voice is always a bonus too**
- **A determined, persistent, and resilient person who approaches and overcomes challenges with a positive 'can do' attitude.**
- **Excellent communication skills and able to work efficiently within a team.**
- **Bucket loads of drive, ambition, and energy**
- **Be able to go home with glitter, glue, paint, and bodily matters on your clothes and in your hair, and still smile about it**
- **Be** **able to go shopping and (NOT) think about ways and ideas of what will look great in the preschool**

**Qualifications**:

- Full and relevant level 3 qualification in Early Years (Essential), or working towards your L3 (i.e. on an apprenticeship or Diploma in Early Years Educator)
- Current Paediatric first aid (12 hours) (Essential)
- Enhanced DBS check which confirms suitability to work with children (Essential or will be willing to pay for a new certificate at your cost).
- Food Hygiene or equivalent training and compliance in food management (This can be completed as part of Induction)
- Relevant safeguarding/child protection training undertaken and a willingness to update training regularly (Essential)

Have SEN training and experience as you will be supporting some 1:1 work
