Gastroenterology services are expanding, our Endoscopy Unit is a busy JAG accredited unit undertaking diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy with a range of specialist services. We have recently undergone a refurbishment with the introduction of a 6 th endoscopy room and looking to expand further services such as a dedicated TNE service. As well as a dedicated Gastroenterology ward. We are a forward thinking; evolving service and it is an exciting to join us. You will be part of a large established dedicated team of committed professionals who will support you in your Trainee journey who are committed and proud to deliver excellent care.

You will be supported in your Trainee role by senior clinicians, specialist nursing teams, working collaboratively to enhance and improve patient outcomes and experience. The role will evolve to a rotational programme, to enhance and support your learning you will work across all areas within Gastroenterology and Endoscopy. Supporting medical teams within our new dedicated Gastroenterology ward, supporting services such as the ascitic drain service, supporting cancer pathways to improve outcomes by ensuring efficiency in our fast track triage, supporting MDT discussions, ACP led clinics with dedicated sessions for research and development of your role.

There are plans to develop a Virtual Gastroenterology ward to optimise patient care, you will contribute directly to a more efficient patient journey and improve the patient experience. The ACP team will support direct admission pathways from our emergency department or endoscopy unit, providing clinical assessment, optimising ward cover, prioritising the acutely unwell patient with your clinical skills and knowledge. All fully supported by our senior clinical teams and consultants.

Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is situated on the west coast of Lancashire, with services covering the local authority areas of Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre. The Trust is part of the Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care System (ICS) supporting a population of around 1.6 million people.

We have three main hospitals providing acute services to around 330,000 local residents and employ over 7000 people from 68 different countries.

The organisation provides specialist tertiary care for Cardiac and Haematology services, delivers community health services to over 445,000 residents including those in North Lancashire and hosts the National Artificial Eye Service across England. We also have specialised Cardio-thoracic Surgical and Sleep Medicine services (including polysomnography) and provide urgent and emergency care services to an estimated 18 million people who visit the seaside resort each year.

The Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner is an experienced multi-professional health and care role. The level of practice is characterised by a high degree of autonomy and complex decision making. This will develop the freedom to act and make critical judgements to satisfy the expectations and demands of the Advanced Practitioner role.

This role encompasses the four pillars of practice in line with the Multi-Professional Framework for Advanced Clinical Practice in England. The pillars of clinical practice, leadership and management, evaluation and research, with demonstration of core capabilities and area specific clinical competencies.

Within this role you will provide holistic care for patients, making clinical diagnosis and decisions based on clinical examination skills, evidence-based practice and trust protocols.

To develop and maintain supportive working relationships with medical,
nursing and allied health professionals/colleagues. This includes engagement with multi-professional clinical teams in order to ensure continuity and quality of care.

Upon completion of a Masters Degree in Advanced Practice, the role will develop as a qualified Multi-Professional
- Advanced Clinical Practitioner

You will be expected to offer full engagement in this process and in return successful applicants will become part of this developing team.
