**JOB PURPOSE**

This post will run in close partnership with Dundee City Council and you will project manage the City Centre Commercial Waste Project which will be implemented on 1st March 2023. Liaise with all commercial waste contractors including Dundee City Council regarding the pilot project timelines and statutory obligations and liaise within Dundee City Council Services including Trade Waste, Sustainable Transportation and Roads and Environmental Compliance teams regarding operation procedures of the policy. Provide guidance and advice to businesses on waste and recycling solutions via partners including Circular Tayside, Zero Waste Scotland and Keep Scotland Beautiful. Work with a range of internal and external stakeholders around delivery of Communications Plan and key actions.

**MAIN DUTIES**

Project Manage the City Centre Commercial Waste Pilot Project and associated procedures and administration

Be the first point of contact for Commercial Waste Contractors and city centre businesses in relation to the project

Issue Permits to Commercial Waste Contractors

Provide guidance and advise on waste & recycling solutions to encourage businesses to reduce waste and recycle more responsibly

Engage directly and indirectly with all city centre businesses to make them aware of the new scheme and their responsibility in managing and presenting their waste, including dealing with any complaints and explaining new compliance issues

Assist in the development & preparation of material for promoting and presenting the detail of the pilot project

Provide support to management in monitoring the implementation and success of the project.

Ensure that financial and budgetary aspects of projects and initiatives being undertaken by the postholder are controlled effectively.

Operate electronic & manual systems of processing, managing and maximising data

Provide guidance and information to Elected Members\Heads of Departments\the public on matters relating to the pilot project
