**Trainee Specialist Stone Cleaning Operative**

**£28,000 per annum**

This trainee role will offer the opportunity to support and deliver stone cleaning and façade gommage projects whilst working towards a nationally recognised qualification.

You will learn how to operate our clients, Thomann-Hanry, patented machinery which ensures the business can deliver the cleaning of facades for its clients without the need for scaffolding, disruption or disproportionate mess.

**Role purpose**

The role purpose is to learn how to undertake the cleaning of the façades of buildings as Thomann-Hanry delivers on a wide variety of projects involving construction and maintenance taking place on historic buildings in and around the Greater London area.

The post-holder will be expected to train to work using our patented façade gommage machinery. During this period of development, they will work alongside the façade gommage team with the opportunity to learn this skilled trade. Once a probationary period has been passed it will be expected that the post-holder will begin to complete a fully company funded NVQ in building heritage conservation.

The role reports into the Contracts Manager/Managing Director and is integral to delivering specialist stone and façade cleaning whilst reporting, tracking and feeding back on project progress in real time. The post holder should also be prepared to learn how to ensure all required equipment is prepared in advance and functions on site.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Learning to undertake hands-on façade gommage and stone cleaning projects initially, with a fully trained member of the team.
- Driving work vehicles and operating truck mounts booms and MEWPS
- Understanding the decision making on how to select prepare, co-ordinate and return tools and materials needed for projects.
- Reviewing project details.
- Reviewing and completing on site risk assessments and method statements
- Cultivating strong working relations to resolve project conflicts and making decisions where necessary.

**Essential skills and experience**
- MUST BE prepared to undertake a role requiring physical strength.
- MUST HAVE a desire to learn building heritage and cleaning all types of natural stone.
- MUST BE ABLE to work a flexible schedule including occasional nights, early mornings and some weekends.
- MUST BE interested and prepared to undertake and work towards a company funded building heritage NVQ.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), and the ability to communicate with a wide range of people.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, with ability to work proactively with people at all levels.
- Excellent team player with an outgoing and friendly manner.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a methodical and organised manner.
- Great attention to detail.
- A valid driving licence is desirable.
