We are seeking a CLERK OF WORKS to join a successful privately owned construction business based in BIRMINGHAM to work on a range of industrial & commercial builds from offices / retail space to new factory / steel frame builds, primarily within the West Midlands but also further afield.

Core hours of 42 per week Mon to Fri plus overtime and basic salary circa £30,000 to £35,000 per annum, depending on experience, employed directly through payroll.

As a CLERK OF WORKS you will undertake the following activities
- Working closely with Site & Project Management teams
- Ensure that work is completed efficiently, safely and to a good standard
- Conduct regular site visits & inspections to assess
- Quality of work undertaken
- Compliance with plans & building regulations
- Adherence to Health & Safety procedures & best practice
- Corrective actions where necessary
- Offer practical advice and instruction to trades on site
- Reporting to Project & Senior Management teams
- Liaising with customers, suppliers & subcontractors
- Attend final inspections & handovers

To be considered for this CLERK OF WORKS appointment your should have the following attributes:

- Time served as a hands on all round builder or multi-trade
- Worked on industrial, factory, commercial or office premises
- SSSTS / SMSTS ideally
- Sound understanding of site health & safety practices
- Technically astute & competent with broad based awareness of construction
- Good working knowledge of materials, trades, methods, and legal requirements
- Knowledge and understanding of building regulations
- Able to travel to sites within the Midlands & further afield as required
- Computer literate (producing reports)
- Good communicator at all levels; Approachable yet firm and persuasive

This CLERK OF WORKS position will ideally suit an experienced and time served all round builder or multi trade who is seeking to come off the tools and use and impart the knowledge and experience they have amassed over the years in a less physical context.

This CLERK OF WORKS requirement is a PERMANENT, FULL TIME, Monday to Friday salaried position, employed directly by the company (paye) and NOT an agency or contract job.
