**Job Description**:
AECOM are looking for junior to consultant level Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) to join our UK&I Ecology Team to support the delivery of our diverse portfolio of rail, invasive non-native species mitigation, road scheme and solar farm projects. If you are an ecologist with good field experience interested in this line of work, please do get in touch The AECOM UK Ecology Team covers all terrestrial, freshwater, and marine habitats. By joining our team as an ECoW, you will have the opportunity to work within an established and successful consultancy that provides a full range of ecological services ranging from specialist habitat and species surveys, impact assessment, advice on biodiversity mitigation, offsetting and enhancement, and management planning for biodiversity. As an Ecological Clerk of Works, you’ll be a vital point of contact for ecological matters onsite, with the responsibility for monitoring and managing construction risks associated with ecology, as well as providing input to continuous improvement of environmental processes, procedures, and related forms.

Our national Ecology Team comprises over 160 ecologists based across the UK&I, our teams enjoy the benefits and security of a large corporation, while being able to work as a small close-knit ecological consultancy. We have mentors within the Team who provide support at a personal level and guide the development of skills and experience. There is a programme of internal training courses and a budget for external training aligned to your professional development goals. **Minimum Requirements**
- Previous work experience in the ecology sector within a professional consultancy (or relevant NGO or academic experience if applicable)
- Experienced in conducting protected species surveys including badgers, nesting birds, great crested newts, and reptiles
- A keen interest and understanding of British wildlife and conservation - evidenced through voluntary work, training courses, charity memberships, hobbies, or related work experience
- An understanding of environmental and ecological impact assessment (EcIA) legislation, policy, and guidance and how it relates to ecological consultancy
- Confident in upholding standards
