Apprentice People Administrator

**Key Responsibilities**
- To provide and organise an efficient, professional and confidential administrative service to the Trust People Manager, including word processing of correspondence, reports, publications and other documents as required.
- To be responsible for ensuring a high standard of quality and accuracy in all documents produced for the Trust People Manager.
- To respond to queries on behalf of the Trust People Manager, including prioritising issues, investigating queries, preparing responses and resolving problems where appropriate.
- To sort, distribute and administer incoming and outgoing mail.
- Maintain a computerised and manual employee records.
- Create, maintain and update confidential records for all staff.
- To work flexibly as part of the People team, undertaking such other duties as may from time to time be required.
- To maintain accurate and comprehensive filing systems.
- To act as a member of the administrative team and to provide support and cover for other members of the team where needs arise.
- **_ Assist the Trust People Officer with all duties in connection to the Trusts recruitment procedures:_**
- To publish, administer and co-ordinate selection processes including arrangements for shortlisting, invitations to interview, pre-employment checks and assessment days.
- To be responsible for safer recruitment across all academies and Trust level staff, in accordance with the recruitment policy.
- To promote equal opportunities and diversity across the Trust.
- To coordinate inductions for all new staff in accordance with the safer recruitment process and ensure new joiner administration is competed within the required timeline including seeking references, medical clearance and DBS checks
**Other Duties**
- To support other members of the administration team, as required.
- To support the achievement of the Trust objectives by working proactively with colleagues on projects or activities outside direct area of responsibility as required.
- To follow the Trust’s ICT policy for the safe use of ICT.
- To be aware of and assume the appropriate level of responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and to report any concerns in accordance with the Trust’s safeguarding policies.
- To comply with legislation, policies and procedures relating to confidentiality and data protection, reporting any concerns to the appropriate person.
- To work in compliance with the Codes of Conduct, Regulations and policies of the Trust and its commitment to equal opportunities.
- To comply with the Trust’s Health & Safety policy and statutory requirements as detailed in the Health & Safety at Work manual.
- Recognise own strengths and areas of expertise and use these to advise and support others and undertake any training and personal development as and when identified by your Line Manager.
- To undertake any other duties as deemed appropriate by the People Manger.
- Contribute to the overall ethos/work/aims of the Trust.
- Attend and participate in meetings as directed.

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, there will be the opportunity to progress onto a career in HR or further training.
Training Provided:
One day a week attendance to Exeter College during term time.
You will receive in work support from a skills officer.

**Working Hours**: 37 hours a week, 44 weeks a year
**Salary Grade**: year 1 apprentice rate of £5.28 and will then follow the national minimum wage.
