As BCW continues to develop and strengthen all areas of their business functions to achieve our goals, vision, customer expectations and standards, an exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Production Controller to join the BCW Engineering team.
- Planning and control of business unit schedule adherence and production capacity planning in accordance with fluctuating customer and business demands.
- Planning and control of business unit inventory stock levels to meet internal capacity demands.
- Planning and control of business unit resource including weekday and weekend overtime levels.
- Support the business unit operations climb to success model and OEE maturity drive to meet 80% OEE target.
- Operational planning and scheduling support to New Product Introduction activities to ensure APQP milestones are achieved in accordance with business APQP processes.

**Role Objective**

To become a valued member of the BCW Engineering Business Unit support team providing production control and support to key direct and indirect departments within the business.

The Production Controller will support the business in ensuring customer demands and business unit performance targets are achieved by controlling internal production capacity planning, inventory stock re-order points and collating OEE performance data for review and reporting.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**General Task Management**
- Analyse and plan effective production capacity in accordance with MP&L forecasting and customer demand.
- Generate capacity plans which meet MP&L forecasting and optimize operational efficiency and cost.
- Analyse and communicate inventory re-order points to ensure effective MP&L and inter business unit performance.
- Reconcile variances from original plans and maintain a view of actual against forecast projections.
- Continually review ways in which to make improvements and make the capacity planning and manufacturing process more efficiently.

**Problem Solving**
- Continually monitor and review plans and make appropriate adjustments in the event of changes and unforeseen circumstances.
- Identify and investigate critical capacity and scheduling issues and communicate corrective action into the business unit.

**People Management**
- Continually monitor and review plans and make appropriate adjustments in the event of changes and unforeseen circumstances.

**Relationship Management**
- Create a maintain positive relationships with internal stakeholders to obtain appropriate data and information to meet role objectives.
- Communicate capacity planning and forecasting to internal stakeholders to ensure operational targets are achieved.
- Support shift, daily and weekly SQCDIP review with relevant data and provide updates on production capacity planning.
- Communicate and escalate business unit issues in accordance with SQCDIP escalation process.

**Business Performance**
- Collate and report shift OEE performance data for weekly operational performance reviews

**Skills and Attributes**:

- Overall Equipment Effectiveness methodology and calculations
- Knowledge of Cycle Times, Takt Times and production requirements

**This is a permanent position based at our site in Burnley.**

Working a 39-hour week

7.45am - 5pm Monday to Thursday and 7.45 to 1pm on Friday.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £26,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
