We have a great opportunity for a Health, Safety & Training Co-ordinator to join Uniserve's team based at Felixstowe. The successful person will be responsible for all co-ordination of all aspects of Health, Safety & Training management within the site. You will need to be flexible in approach and in the duties which are performed in order to ensure that urgent and important tasks are completed in line with the business needs.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Understanding company policies and how these should be interpreted and implemented ensuring performance standards are met, covering all areas of the department
- Assisting and advising Line Managers and Supervisors with H&S issues such as accident investigations and risk assessments
- Co-ordinating daily Health & Safety tasks
- Arranging Health and Safety Meetings with senior management, confirming attendance.
- Ensuring sufficient fire warden and first aid cover for site, covering all shifts arranging additional training where required
- Implementing, reviewing, and updating the site action plan with the Group H&S Manager
- Identifying Health and Safety needs for site management and supervision
- Ensuring that persons left in charge of the site have sufficient Health and Safety knowledge
- Co-ordinating all contractors attending site i.e., permits etc
- Reporting notifiable accidents to the enforcement authorities and following the RIDDOR procedure.
- Challenging unsafe behaviour and promote the site safety culture
- Assist Group H&S Manager Employee Liability Claims Management
- Ensure that all relevant H&S documentation is reviewed and revised as necessary and available for inspection
- Co-ordinate all necessary Internal H&S Audits

**Skills Knowledge and Expertise**:

- IT and organisational skills
- Experience of working within Warehouse & Distribution
- Understanding and appreciation of H&S principles
- Desire to learn new skills in H&S
- Assertive personality who is comfortable challenging dangerous behaviour in the workplace
- Hold relevant FLT licenses & previous experience within a warehouse environment is essential.
- Previous experience of delivering FLT and Warehousing courses
- Confidence in IT skills, is an advantage
- Ability to motivate self and learners
- Ability to use initiative and be flexible in approach
- Contribute and work well as part of a team
