Safe Start School Tameside, is an Independent SEN provision for students 11-16 years with additional needs. The well-being and achievement of every child are of utmost importance to us and it is only through a supportive partnership between students, families, school and other professionals that we can achieve this.
We are looking for a Deputy Headteacher Inclusion & Safeguarding to join our SLT team, you must be, adaptable, imaginative, creative and flexible in your approach to work, be self-motivating and have the ability to identify your own training needs and a willingness to attend relevant training courses or other training.
Your role will be paramount in ensuring the school environment is safe and compliant.
**Line management responsibilities**:
- Personal & Social Development Lead
- Safeguarding Lead
- Pastoral Support Team Lead
- Intervention Lead
- Mental Health and Wellbeing Lead
**Responsible for**:
- Leading and developing Inclusion, Safeguarding and Restorative approaches to behaviour
- Maximising inclusion and progress at each Key Stage
- Rich, broad, balanced & accessible provision matched to student needs and aspirations
- Ensuring school systems provide an orderly and safe environment
- Taking responsibility for the school in the absence of the Headteacher
- To contribute to the day to day management of the school, including pupil, parent and other stakeholder feedback
- Take responsibility for ensuring safe and healthy learning environments and safeguarding and child protection issues
You will need to have a broad and current knowledge and understanding of how to evaluate and develop the quality of inclusive pedagogy, provision and personal & social development, referencing, but not limited by, the Ofsted/ISS framework.
You will also need a good understanding of individual and school roles that effectively safeguard children including the role of Designated Safeguarding Lead.
Our children all have EHCP's and additional SEN and Behavioural needs which can result in physical intervention at times, all our staff are CPI trained and supported through training programmes to deal with challenging behaviours/situations.
