**EXECUTIVE OFFICER - HOME OFFICE - ASYLUM**

Brook Street is currently recruiting in partnership with the Home Office Migration Intake Unit - Executive Officers/ Senior Administrators to undertake a 6 month minimum contract to start as soon as clearance is passed.
- Pay rate**:London living wage: £18.22 per hour**, **living** **outside London £15.79** per hour
- On-site training -1 week at a Home Office close by. The training will be conducted at Croydon, Dover, and Ramsgate. Total training 3 weeks - 2 weeks remote.
- Length of Assignment**:6 months** with the possibility of extension
- Working Days/Hours: 4 day working week including weekends (Shift pattern below) - Hours of work to commence at 09:30 and ends at 19:00 (meal break mid-shift)
- Shifts: Week 1: Sunday off; Work Monday & Tuesday; Wednesday & Thursday off; Work Friday & Saturday
- Week 2: Work Sunday; Monday & Tuesday off; Work Wednesday, Thursday & Friday; Saturday off
- No holiday during the 3-week training period

**About the role**
- The Executive Officer will be conducting screening interviews remotely, via MSTeams/Skype/Telephone with asylum claimants utilising remote interpreters, establishing the individual's reasons for claiming asylum and obtaining details as to their personal circumstances (including establishing any well-being or vulnerabilities requirements).
- The officer will then be responsible for updating Home Office systems with the details of the individual and their asylum claim, allowing for the progression of the claim.
- The officer will need a keen eye for detail;
- a sense of professional curiosity when conducting screening interviews;
- IT competence to ensure that the details are swiftly and efficiently updated onto Home Office systems.
- Once fully trained and competent expectations are to complete 5 full cases per day.
