**Exciting Opportunity for a part time Qualified Non-Medical Prescriber in Reading**

We're thrilled to announce a fantastic opportunity for a **Qualified Non-Medical Prescriber** to join our dedicated team in Reading. Our team consists of a diverse group of professionals, including experienced managers, committed Specialist Doctors, empathetic Nurses, dedicated recovery staff, outstanding peer mentors, and incredible volunteers.

Working in Substance Misuse is both dynamic and fulfilling, albeit with its challenges. Our aim is to provide unwavering support to those impacted by substance misuse as they navigate their journey toward growth and well-being.

Our** NMP's **are integral members of our multi-disciplinary and multi-agency teams, delivering recovery orientated alcohol and drug intervention services. Offering care for presenting clients, prescribing and/or making amendments to prescriptions of opiate and/or alcohol substitute treatments and other related medications, they take a lead role in developing the prescribing clinic, acting as a point of contact for other workers and partner agencies around prescribing issues.

**Salary**: £47,085.94 - £52,541.86 pro rata (dependent on experience)

**Responsibilities**:
**About the Role**:

- ** Comprehensive Care**: Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate treatment and interventions for individuals accessing medical treatment with us.
- ** Medication Management**: Prescribe and review medication for therapeutic effectiveness, aligning with individual needs and adhering to evidence-based practices, national and local protocols, and your scope of practice.
- ** Urgent Care**: Prioritise health problems and intervene appropriately in complex, urgent, or emergency situations, seeking immediate advice and direction from the Clinical Lead when necessary.
- ** Preventive Health**: Assess, update, and refer individuals for BBV vaccination and immunisation programs. Support individuals accessing treatment in adopting health promotion strategies that encourage healthy lifestyles.
- ** Effective Communication**: Communicate effectively with people accessing treatment, recognising and overcoming barriers related to different levels of understanding, cultural backgrounds, and preferred methods of communication.
- ** Advocacy and Coordination**: Maintain effective communication within the organisation and with external stakeholders, acting as an advocate for service users and colleagues when needed.
- ** Documentation**: Produce accurate, up-to-date, and complete records of consultations, consistent with legislation, policies, and procedures.
- ** Continuous Improvement**: Assess the effectiveness of care delivery through self and peer review, benchmarking, and formal evaluation. Actively participate in the annual appraisal system.

**About You**:

- ** Qualifications**:

- Qualified pharmacist with current GPhC registration and two years post-qualification experience
- OR First level registered nurse with a current PIN and three years post-qualification experience
- Qualified Non-Medical Prescriber
- ** Experience**: At least one year's relevant and recent experience in substance misuse treatment.
- ** Knowledge**: Sound and demonstrable knowledge of harm reduction and health promotion interventions.
- ** Skills**: Ability to assess and create recovery plans for service users and formulate written reports as needed. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
