Maintenance Technician

Birmingham

41,799 - 47,030 plus 5% bonus

Rota - 4 on 4 off

**Main Purposes of the Job**:

- To carry out maintenance both pre-planned, remedial, and re-active works to the company's substantial Mechanical & Electrical infrastructure within the terminals and associated buildings using company asset management software.
- Improving and ensuring availability and good order of company assets
- Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and sustainability of company's Mechanical & Electrical infrastructure.
- Identifying Mechanical & Electrical infrastructure assets for adding to the company asset register.
- To keep the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) up to date for the relevant Infrastructure
- To raise CMMS Help calls as required

**Main Responsibilities of the role**:

- Maximising company Mechanical & Electrical Infrastructure availability through good maintenance practices, assets such as but not limited to - HVAC, Motors, lifts and escalators, Airbridges, Automatic doors, smoke extraction, sprinkler systems etc.
- Responding to issues with Mechanical & Electrical infrastructure in a timely and practical manner.
- Responsible for ordering and maintaining stock levels required for the post
- To escort and supervise external contractors and assist in arranging their visits
- Familiarisation of new installations by third parties including consultation at design phase if required
- Able to read layout drawings
- Escalation/re-allocation of jobs to the appropriate owner if not a Mechanical & Electrical issue
- Assisting other trades as required I.e., Baggage Engineering Technicians, Facilities Technicians, HVAC technicians
- To support the promotion of a health and safety culture across the company.
- Contribute to the safe operation of assets, services, and systems

**Key Skills/Objectives**:

- Hold a recognised Mechanical/Electrical qualifications for the post applied for
- To support the continuing operation of company's Engineering and Infra-structure
- Great communication skills, both public and inter-departmental
- Ability to use Word, Excel and E-mail
- Must be able to work on own initiative as well as work within a team environment
- Willingness to receive training as deemed appropriate
- Keeping up to date on new technology/systems that could benefit the company's Operational and sustainability targets
