Shift Pattern

  • 4 days on/ 4 days off,
  • 1 h break (30 min unpaid)
  • Rotating shift - Day 6:00-18:00 NIGHT 18:00-6:00

Job purpose

The maintenance technicians role is to provide reactive and planned maintenance cover on all plant.

You should also provide cross functional support to other team members, as and when required.

Main duties but not limited to following

  • Engage communication with the direct & indirect team to encourage two way communication.
  • Participate in Team Meeting with relevant Management Team.
  • Assist in implementing initiatives should targets/plant not be meet
  • Focus on continuous improvement to reduce maintenance costs and maximise plant efficiency without compromising quality or safety
  • Ensure that all maintenance activities carried out and fully compliant with regulatory standards for safety, health and the environment, in order to ensure the company values are upheld.
  • To utilise organisational techniques such 5S to provide a safe and efficient workplace.
  • Ensure that all plant modifications and maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with the appropriate Engineering and Health and Safety standards.

Requirements

  • Mechanical background with basic Electrical knowledge, ideally with an Engineering Apprenticeship (or equivalent experience).
  • You will be working in a Maintenance Engineer / Technician role in manufacturing / production engineering environments, having gained hands on knowledge of equipment including conveyors, motors, gearboxes, hydraulics and pneumatics with any basic electrical fault-finding experience highly beneficial.
  • Some fabrication knowledge would be an advantage - Ideally qualified to City & Guilds/NVQ level 3.
  • The ability to use Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is highly desirable.
  • IOSH is highly desirable, but not essential and can be gained.
  • Waste and Recycling knowledge
