**Your role**

We are currently recruiting for a Hatchery Operative (Temporary, 3 months).

The hatchery operative role at Carn Hatchery will work as part of a team ensuring all standards are met within the hatchery for efficient and effective hatchery production.

An enhanced rate is offered for the shift.

The hours of work are Friday to Tuesday 12pm to 8:30pm (Flexi start from 12- 8:30pm).

As an operative you will:

- Complete Laboratory practices and reconcile all relevant shift information.
- Handle needles and syringes to reconstitute frozen vaccine vials into diluent bags for in-ovo vaccination of eggs.
- Record liquid nitrogen levels and storage.
- Maintain sterile and excellent hygiene conditions in the lab.
- Capture and record air sampling.
- Record results from vaccine samples.
- Swab hygiene samples and record information.
- Maintain and ensure quality, hygiene and productivity standards are maintained in the production environment.
- Demonstrate excellent dexterous (handling) skills.
- Recording shift information
- Maintain an excellent communication with management and supervisors.
- Control of stock usages.
- State of the art equipment used.
- Working in a warm environment.
- New canteen facility to avail of.
- Be flexible with shift hours to suit production.

**What you’ll need**
- Must be literate and numerate.
- Basic level English essential.
- Must be able to think clearly.
- Must be able to work as a team member.
- Must have a positive attitude to work and others
- Good manual dexterity is essential.
- Good communication skills are desirable.
- The ability to work on own initiative and learn new skills is desirable.
- Previous hatchery and/or production and/or livestock and/or cleaning experience is desirable.
- Evidence of mechanical aptitude is desirable
