**FINANCE ASSISTANT**

**6 MONTH FIXED TERM CONTRACT**

Founded in 1922, the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) is the UK based and internationally recognised qualifying body and learned society for chemical, biochemical and process engineers. We exist to advance chemical engineering’s contribution for the benefit of society.

We are looking for a proactive, enthusiastic and reliable Finance Assistant, ideally with some transactional finance experience, to cover all areas of sales ledger and purchase ledger duties, including the processing of membership subscriptions. High levels of professionalism and excellent customer service skills are a requirement as the post holder will be dealing directly with our members, staff and customers.

**Core responsibilities of the role include**:

- Shared responsibility of accounts receivable activities alongside other team members. Duties include but are not limited to: raising sales invoices and proformas, performing credit checks, credit control, payment reconciliations, aged debtor analysis.
- Shared responsibility of purchase ledger activities alongside other team members. Duties include but are not limited to: processing purchase invoices and expenses, supplier payment runs, aged creditor analysis, statement reconciliations.
- Assisting team members with the processing of membership subscriptions and handling member enquiries relating to payments.

Due to IChemE’s international nature, this position requires a willingness to work flexibly and to engage in business discussions outside of normal working hours.

This position is based in the UK and will be a hybrid role with the expectation of it being one to two days working from the Rugby office and the remainder working from home. There will be times when you may be required to attend the workplace on remote working days as and when IChemE requires. IChemE reserves the right to vary this working arrangement at reasonable notice.

This is a fixed term role for a period of six months, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday through to Friday.
