**Are you an experienced Senior Accounts Assistant who is looking to progress their career within a growing and established business?**

BMC Recruitment Group are delighted to be working alongside an established company in the Newcastle upon Tyne area who are looking to recruit an experienced Accounts Assistant to their finance team on a full time, permanent contract.

As an Accounts Assistant, you will be a key member within the team and also be supervising junior members of the team and their work. You will be currently studying for an AAT qualification and be motivated to progressing your career.

**Job duties include**:

- Carry out day to day Service Charge, maintenance, reconciliation, budget setting and control
- Help to produce Client Statements
- Set up of new management instructions and entering any opening balances
- Dealing with any queries related to new tenancies, tenants’ balances and charges.
- Reconciliation of Utilities invoices and liaising with providers, if requested
- Provide Client, tenant & supplier liaison
- Process high volume purchase ledger transactions for multiple clients & properties (In absence of accounts assistant)
- Carry out supplier reconciliations & payment runs (in absence of accounts assistant)
- Issue demands and Vat receipts (In absence of accounts assistant)
- Carry out TDS reconciliation (In absence of accounts assistant)
- Account for Utility & insurance recharges
- Perform daily & monthly bank reconciliations (In absence of accounts assistant)
- Issue rent & service charge demands (In absence of accounts assistant)
- Carry out credit control as and when required
- Provide staff cover for own Group accounts

**Qualifications**
- Working towards an AAT qualification
- Significant experience in working as Accounts Assistant, including assisting with P&L preparations and Balance Sheet reconciliations, and has got a broad understanding of the main duties listed above.
- Are a quick learner, problem solver and has also got a proven record working to tight deadlines, has got “can do” attitude, strong working ethics, strong communicational skills, attention to detail and ability to complete tasks in a timely and accurate manner first time, strong Excel skills.
- Good organisation skills are a pre-requisite of the role, as is the ability to be organised and prioritise workload
- Essential to have the ability and proven track record of working individually or part of a team are essential.This is a varied Accounts Assistant role joining a leading Technology company with a friendly, hardworking and dynamic team.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Raising invoices for clients
- Liaising with sales team and customer service to resolve any disputes
- Allocating payments
- Cash allocations
- Bank reconciliations
- Credit Control - chasing customers to unpaid invoices
- Minimum 1 years' experience prior experience in an Accounts Assistant role
- Part qualified
- Ability to communicate effectively with senior managers and external suppliers
- IT literate and highly proficient in Microsoft Excel

**Job Type**: Permanent

**Salary**: £26,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
