An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our teaching and learning team in the Department of Statistics at the University of Warwick, building teaching experience within a vibrant teaching and research environment. We offer a range of degree programmes including BSc and Integrated Masters in Mathematics and Statistics, MORSE (Mathematics, Operational Research, Statistics and Economics) and Data Science. We have a large number of international students and a capable and motivated student body - our standard entry requirements are A*A*A including mathematics and further mathematics. We deliver around 60 modules ranging from first year mathematical techniques to masters-level advanced topics.

As a Tutor, you will have a leading involvement in delivering problem classes, tutorials and computer practicals and grading assignments for undergraduate students. You will also contribute to a range of other teaching and learning activities, possibly including personal tutoring, outreach and open days. Up to 20% of your time will be allocated to personal professional development, for example to pursue a research programme in Statistics or a related discipline or for ongoing professional development of your pedagogical skills and knowledge.

**JOB PURPOSE**

Support the teaching and learning in the Department of Statistics.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

1. To contribute to the educational goals of the Department of Statistics, promote a positive experience and create interest, understanding and enthusiasm amongst students.

2. To support student learning through use of appropriate pedagogic methods.

3. To lead small group teaching sessions including problem classes, tutorials and computer practicals.

4. To engage in assessment activities such as grading student work and providing constructive feedback to enable improvements.

5. To undertake preparation and development of material for teaching activities as required, including developing familiarity and clear understanding of concepts and methods.

6. To engage with wider teaching-related and administrative activities, such as personal tutoring, outreach and open days.

7. To reflect on practice and develop own teaching and learning skills.

8. To carry out any other duties commensurate with the grade and purpose of the post as advised by the Deputy Head of Department (Teaching and Learning).

9. To pursue a research programme in Statistics or a related discipline or a programme of ongoing professional development of your pedagogical skills and knowledge.
