The School of Modern Languages and Cultures at the University of Warwick is looking to appoint a Language Tutor (Lecteur.trice) in French for 2 years from 1st September 2023.

We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague to teach French oral classes to undergraduate students across all levels. You will have native fluency in written and spoken French.

Interview Date: TBC.

**JOB PURPOSE**

To teach French oral classes to undergraduate students in the French section of the SMLC, at all levels.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Teaching, learning and assessment**:

- Carry out teaching within a clear and established programme.
- Develop own teaching materials, methods and approaches with assistance and support.
- Collaborate with colleagues in the continuous review and development of the oral provision at all levels.
- Assess student progress and provide written feedback on student’s oral presentations.
- Undertake teaching-related academic tasks (e.g. setting examination questions, collecting student feedback through questionnaires).
- Run oral examinations at the end of the year at all levels.
- Participate in training.
- Mark the year abroad writing tasks outside of term time, after attending appropriate training.
- Support French activities beyond the classroom (e.g. taking part in the debating and conversation club).

**Teaching-related duties and administration**:

- Liaise with the other language tutors to plan lessons effectively.
- Attend staff meetings and language group meetings as required.
- Ensure module web pages are up-to-date and accurate.
- Monitor and report student absences and concerns and take appropriate action.
