**The role**

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Orbit, offering an apprentice the chance to join our Cashbook team within the finance department. You’ll be working towards AAT Level 2 or 3, gaining valuable industry experience within a fast-paced, varied work environment.

You will help provide an excellent finance service to all of our customers, by learning all the aspects of the Cashbook team.

Through a combination of shadowing project work and mentoring, we will support you to develop the professional and technical skills needed for this role, and the tools needed to kick-start a career within cashbook finance.

This role is part of the Finance team, where you'll help us to invest more back into our customers communities, playing an integral role within our organisation.

**What you'll achieve**
- Processing all financial transactions related to income received and payments out of the Orbit Group bank accounts, within agreed timetables and formats, ensuring that all agreed timetables and deadlines are met.
- Maintaining accurate information on the financial ledgers, for example, posting journals, reconciling accounts, and analysing information etc.
- Investigating and correcting missing or mis-posted transactions, advising colleagues/managers as necessary.
- Ensuring that any outstanding items are investigated, cleared and an updated position is provided to the Assistant Accountant for review on a weekly basis.
- Providing customers with ongoing support for the business with the cashbook and income processing systems.

**What you'll bring**
- 5 GCSEs at A*-C/9-4 or equivalent including Maths and English.

**Essential skills**
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Good organisational, planning and time management skills.
- Good attention to detail.

**Eligibility**
- Would need to have been a resident in the UK for a minimum of 3 years
- Cannot be studying another vocational qualification
- You must be of the age of 16 +
- Cannot be on a student visa
