Taunton, United Kingdom Somerset NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Opportunities have arisen to join our professional, patient centred team at Pyrland ward.

As a Health Care Assistant within our team, you will have the opportunity to work alongside colleagues in a professional and compassionate environment for Older Adults who are experiencing a range of mental health difficulties.

We require a dedicated and conscientious Health Care Assistant to join our friendly team at Pyrland ward.

Pyrland provides specialist in-patient care and assessment for Older adults with a range of mental health problems. We operate as two wards, one of which caters for people suffering from dementia. Our other ward caters for those experiencing acute mental health problems such as depression and anxiety.

At Pyrland,we have a strong emphasis, as a team, on working closely with relatives and carers in order to achieve the best possible outcomes for our patients. We are also committed to maintaining high standards and constantly seeking to improve the quality of care our service users receive.

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated person who enjoys interacting with others, has a positive attitude, and can work well as part of a team. As part of your role, you would be expected to work flexibly across both wards, and to work shifts, including night duties when required.

This role would provide an excellent opportunity for someone with an interest in caring for Older adults. We are keen to support your professional development through learning, and encourage our staff to develop their skills and areas of interest through link-working.

We would welcome the opportunity to have an informal chat with you if you would like more information about the role.

As an organisation, the NHS offers a wide range of benefits including flexible working, pension contributions, market leading annual leave allowance, career progression and regular conversations, not to mention our Blue Light Card and NHS exclusive discounts.

The benefits of working in Somerset include the idyllic countryside, with our areas of outstanding beauty and stunning coastlines. You will get to enjoy these perks whilst still only being a stone’s throw away from bustling city centres like Bristol, Bath and Exeter and only two hours away from London.

There are excellent educational facilities in the area and, when compared to other regions, house prices are reasonable. You will experience the best of both in Somerset, the countryside and the cosmopolitan - there is truly something for everyone
