**Responsible to Governance Leader of Meridian Trust**

Duties will include:

- Clerking 6 committee meetings per year, including drafting agendas. minuting the meetings and ensuring follow-up
- Providing advice on governance, constitutional and procedural matters
- Ensuring the Academy Councils are properly constituted and compliant with statutory requirements
- Providing administrative support to the Academy Council
- Supporting volunteers in governance roles including signposting

The postholder will be required to attend school for in-person meetings. These are usually held in the evenings and dates are available far in advance. We would consider the Clerk attending some meetings in person and clerking some meetings remotely. The Clerk is accountable to the Meridian Trust Governance Leader, Academy Council Chairs and Principals of those academies in which the Clerk is working.

Somersham Primary School serves the villages of Somersham and Pidley in Cambridgeshire and is at the heart of our village communities and a place where our children are proud to learn, grow and develop.
