**Band 2 - Multi Discipline Operative Advert**:
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Capital, Estates & Facilities Department at Cardiff & Vale University Health Board as a Multi Discipline Operative.

The Capital, Estates & Facilities Service Board are currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic individual to support the Electrical Estates Teams at one of the largest Health Boards in Wales.

The department is going through an exciting time of Modernisation and Service Improvement to maximise support and enhance the patient experience whilst, ensuring the department is fit for the future. We are looking to recruit someone who will excel in providing a safe, organised and highly efficient service, a person who can be innovative in their thinking and have the ability to make decisions for themselves, someone who can develop and support change in the department and be an integral part of a modern, effective, flexible Estates Team and ready for the future challenges ahead.

The successful applicant will have to demonstrate experience and level of competence in multi-discipline maintenance activities to enable support to the Electrical, Mechanical and Building Service Team at C&V UHB. Our prime purpose is to ensure the continual operation and proactive maintenance of Estate based “Engineering Services” across Cardiff & Vale UHB.

To assist higher grade maintenance staff to carry out core maintenance functions.
To include cleaning duties inside and outside of the building.
Working across the portfolio of the organisation wherever required.
Transporting and delivering materials around sites, general labouring duties and snow clearing gritting in inclement weather.

Assist other staff within the department at the request of the team leader.

Work within team supporting and covering others to meet KPI targets and the needs of the service.

Report to Team Leader any concerns regarding plant or equipment failures.

Actively participate in operation of basic planned preventative maintenance procedures.

Actively participate in all continuous improvement programs.

To follow basic planned maintenance schedules and report faults.

Actively participate in the operation of works information management
systems by working within schemes and using modern technology such as
time and attendance, PDA’s, tablets, mobiles etc.

Understand the requirements of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and
other relevant policies and procedures - issued by the Estates Department.

Undertake safe working practices at all times by following UHB departmental safety policies, procedures and protocols

Where possible reduce the amount of waste produced and dispose of all
waste in line with UHB policies.

Use of hand tools and equipment within safety guidelines as necessary for the completion of works

To be prepared to work in hazardous areas taking all safety measures to
prevent danger, avoid injury and prevent damage to equipment.

To participate in an annual Performance Appraisal Development Review
(PADR) with team leader when required
