**About Our Client**:
The role will be working on an initial 6-month fixed-term contract with a possibility of an extension.

**The key responsibilities of the Procurement Officer include**:

- Develop procurement policies and procedures for the organisation
- Liaise with various departments to understand their procurement needs
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and negotiate contracts
- Evaluate supplier performance and ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods
- Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities and provide regular reports to management
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and ethical standards
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to reduce procurement costs
- Manage the procurement budget and provide regular updates to management

**The successful Procurement Officer**:

- Knowledge of procurement best practices and procedures
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Experience of working in a procurement and/or commercial role or function.
- Experience of supporting and facilitating a procurement lifecycle.
- Ability to quickly understand the commercial and procurement requirements of different parts of the business, identifying and mitigating project risks and issues, and effectively support the teams to deliver their objectives.
- Previous experience of building and managing relationships and of working collaboratively with stakeholders to deliver a range of business outcomes, on a high-volume basis.
