Our after school club is a fun and exciting place to be. We have themed nights comprising of many different activities, games, books, films and much more. After school have access to an array of outdoor toys that can be used in the spring/summer months, where we spend a lot of time outside. The children have a great time playing with friends and joining in with activities. ASC runs across two site main sites, the junior school and Lovell House (infants) but are managed and staffed as as whole.

£11.34 per hour plus competitive employee benefits
Preferred hours are 3:30pm - 6pm Monday to Friday
Term time (36 weeks) plus INSET Days

**JOB DESCRIPTION**

Primary Purpose
To organise, develop and supervise the activities of pupils attending the After School Club.
- Appropriate care, control and supervision of pupils in After School Care.
- To plan, organise and deliver a weekly schedule of valuable, interesting and appropriate activities to promote learning through play.
- Maintain positive interactions with pupils, acting as role model and being aware of and responding appropriately to individual needs.
- Liaise with teaching staff and administrative staff in connection with After School Care.
- Comply with all Health & Safety regulations pertaining to After School Care.
- Administer basic First Aid in accordance with agreed School Procedures.
- Liaise with parents of pupils in After School Care in the event of illness, injury, behaviour etc., in accordance with agreed School procedures. To communicate with parents about the club and its activities.
- Keep the ASC Manager informed of all incidents and/or report any concerns as necessary in After School Care.
- To provide full care for the children including maintaining a register of children attending the Club, following up any unexpected absences and the safe delivery to parents and/or named carers.
- Stay with a child if a parent is late arriving to collect their child, make contact with the parent as necessary and notify the ASC Manager by telephone if the parent is more than 20 minutes late.
- Present high standards of appearance at all times and display a professional example relating to punctuality, general behaviour, attention to detail, adaptability and flexibility.
- Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, behaviour management reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.
- Contribute to the overall ethos of the School.
- To attend appropriate training to continually develop the After School Club facilities and their own professional skills.
- Any other duties that may be reasonably required within the grade and scope of the role.

The Person
- Be qualified in a relevant childcare qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 2 ) or have equivalent qualifications
- Able to relate well to children and adults.
- Good literacy/numeracy skills.
- Confident communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to use own initiative.
- Flexible and able to adapt to changing demands.
- Able to work constructively as part of a small team.
- Patience, tact and diplomacy.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle such information sensitively.
- Qualified in paediatric first aid (or willingness to become qualified)
- An understanding of child protection.
- Experience of working with or caring for children.
