**KEY RESULT AREAS**:
**_Strategy and Planning:_**
- Engages with all business entities to ensure robust business continuity plans are in place that are regularly reviewed, updated and tested.
- Actively plans ahead for foreseeable risks to the operational continuity of the Group
- Supports the UK Crisis Management team in the event of a disaster situation
- Regularly reviews existing systems and processes to implement efficiencies and improvements in line with business growth and direction
- Assists in the development of recovery strategies on behalf of the UK entities
- Delivers high quality advice to the business in a practical and commercially focused way in relation to business continuity planning and any relevant matters that reduce risk, resolve issues and maximise the opportunity for the operating entity to deliveron its goals
- Supports the business in winning and retaining clients by contributing in a timely manner to due diligence requests
- Develops and delivers education and awareness of business continuity planning across the Group
- Management/oversight of the mass notification tool

**_Policy, Process and Procedures:_**
- Ensure all policy, procedures and audit requirements are strictly adhered to so that these are in line with best practice.
- Support internal reporting mechanisms and relevant compliance and regulatory requirements
- Support and drive enhancements to processes to ensure these are relevant for current business structure and are aligned with best practice and business needs
- Responsible for record-keeping and communication on business continuity issues
- Participate in the ongoing review of internal policies, procedures, and professional relationships, to ensure that these are up to date and relevant

**_Environment, Customer Focus and Relationships:_**
- Build and maintain close links with peers, key internal and external stakeholders, working with the business and other functions to share information, identify risks and deliver business growth
- Liaise with external auditors as required
- Act as a key member of the team, positively contributing to making decisions to ensure the business is protected in any disaster situation
- Work collaboratively and maintain regular communication with peers across the operating entity and the wider Group to ensure consistency in approach and promotion of best practice and facilitate efficient operational workflow and enhanced sharing of knowledgeand information where applicable
- Shares information that could be beneficial to the operating entity/Group
- Remains aware of external, industry, legal and regulatory developments etc. to ensure practices and outputs are of a sufficiently high standard
- Conduct regular external analysis and attend external forums etc. to remain aware of industry developments and ensure practices and outputs are in line with best practice

**_Technical:_**
- Manages assigned projects and contribute to other projects as required
- Responds appropriately to urgent issues as they arise
- Works with the Group to identify their needs for business continuity advice and guidance and identifies the best means of delivering these, balancing system requirements and compliance/best practice
- Management of a business continuity software system for the production, distribution, assessment and review of business continuity plans and business impact assessments across the Group to ensure these are in line with Group requirements

**Regulatory and Compliance**:
The Board of each operating entity requires the highest standards of corporate governance, operational excellence and financial reporting throughout the Group from all its employees. Specific responsibilities are listed below. Reference to team (below) isonly

applicable where the job holder has direct line management responsibilities:

- Ensures compliance with all applicable legal, fiscal and regulatory obligations in the form of policies and procedures
- Ensures correct authorisation is obtained and processes followed when required by the operating entity and/or Group
- Ensures performance, HR and T&C records are up to date and meet the operating entity and/or Group’s requirements (which will include those of direct reports if the job holder has line management responsibilities)
- Maintains accurate records and deal with correspondence appropriately
- Operates in an honest, professional and ethical manner
- Strictly adheres to the Group Employee Code of Conduct which strongly aligns to the FCA’s code of conduct that all regulated entities must adhere to
- Completes all relevant regulatory training
- Ensures remain competent to carry out role (this will include team members where job holder has direct reports)

**Knowledge**
- Knowledge and experience within Financial Services.
- Knowledge of BCI Good Practice Guidelines / ISO22301 best practice.
- A reasonable awareness of data and emerging technologies and how they apply
- Strong understanding of business functions such as IT, Finance, Marketing, HR etc.
- An understanding of business continuity planning and management of disaster situations

**Experience/Qualifications**
- An understanding of Business Continuity Planning and Disaster Recovery principles and requirements
- Experience in similar roles in financial institutions at a level ensuring interaction with senior executives
- CBCI accreditation or working towards completion
- Track record of delivery results both in routine and project mode, and managing priorities to meet deadlines
- Ability to deliver and understand complex management information
