Within the College of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences, the Department of Health Sciences undertakes high quality undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and world-leading research in Global Public Health, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Social Work.

We are looking for a capable administrator to provide support to the Department. In this varied role, you will deal with a number of administrative tasks, joining the Senior Department Administrator as the key focal point for academic staff across their activities.

Your pro-active involvement will allow academic colleagues (in particular the Divisional Leads) to concentrate on their core commitments to students and research. Key duties of the role will include:

- Assisting the Senior Department Administrator in areas such as booking academic travel in UK and abroad, booking external training and conferences, co-ordinating and supporting the delivery of events including catering, room booking etc
- Co-ordinating staff administration and person-focused processes including arranging Right to Work checks, facilitating the academic recruitment process involving scheduling short-listing and interview panel, new starter on boarding, setting up Honorary contracts
- Supporting the Divisional Leads and Department Directors in their day-to-day diary management and administrative tasks including servicing a number of committees, as well as Department and Divisional staff meetings

Reporting to the Head of Department, you will have experience of diary management, confident use of MS Outlook, MS Teams, MS Word and MS Excel, alongside strong problem-solving skills. You will have a commitment to providing excellent, proactive customer service and an ability to develop effective relationships across different departments (internally and externally) within the University. You will possess excellent numeracy, analytical and literacy skills and should be able to demonstrate well-developed organisational skills, including the ability to work co-operatively in small teams as well as on your own initiative.
