As the Commercial PR Specialist, you will be responsible for contributing to the positioning of the IKEA brand as unique, meaningful, and trusted, and the preferred choice in home furnishing products and solutions. To ensure professional media & influencer relations with effective and engaging commercial PR communications, supporting IKEA and the UK and Ireland’s commercial agenda & priorities. To drive an open and sharing climate, being a role model of the IKEA values.

ESSENTIAL COMPETENCE REQUIRED:

- Strong communication skills in English (spoken and written)
- 5-8 years’ experience of both internal and external communication
- 5-8-year experience with commercial PR communication, consumer PR also in digital environments
- Familiar with navigating social media platforms and media trends.
- Used to working in an integrated environment with multiple functions and agencies, taking responsibility for project management.
- Experience with leading in change
- Preferred: combined experience of in-house & agency
- Preferred: PR agency management
- Preferred: Experience with crisis communication
- Preferred: Knowledge of the IKEA brand, culture, values, and way of working

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING DAY TO DAY:

- Execute and implement the local integrated communication plan - with focus on commercial PR, whilst securing alignment with the global communication plans.
- In close collaboration and aligned with the Marketing team secure the planning, execution and optimizing the use of earned media, as part of an integrated media approach to maximize commercial impact, drive business results and improve cost efficiency of results.
- Define, plan, create/execute and follow up on commercial PR communication, driving end-to-end project management, including close collaboration with and day-to-day management of our Commercial PR agency.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of media relations agenda, executing Manage Media and influence engagement strategies for reactive, proactive, and activist communication.
- Actively encourage improvement of content creation, based on trends in communication and the latest developments within commercial PR
- Monitor and analyse media to measure results as well as identify proactive opportunities and potential risk issues.
- Participate in the process for country on-duty phone and media product loans.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

This position is full time, you will work 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday over 12 month fixed term contract duration. The Service Office principal location is working a minimum of 8 days per calendar month in the office and the remainder working remotely at home.

The role of Commercial PR Specialist offers a starting salary of £41,000,00 plus the full IKEA Benefits Package.
