**About the Barn Theatre**

The Barn is a producing house theatre in the heart of the Cotswolds. The venue opened in 2018 and five years on, they have won several awards for the work they have created.

The Barn Theatre Project was established as a charity by Ian and Chrissie Carling with the vision of building a bold legacy in the arts for the community of Cirencester and the Cotswolds. Their unwavering determination made this dream a reality. Construction of this remarkable facility began in 2014 and finished in 2017, opening their first professional production to critical acclaim in March 2018.

The former 1940s Nissen hut has been transformed into a beautiful, state-of-the-art, air-conditioned auditorium for 200 theatre-lovers. With a studio rehearsal suite, dressing rooms, a green room, and an orchestra pit, audiences will experience entertainment that competes with the West End.

They have a passionate belief that theatre is for everyone and use this as a platform to inspire and support a vibrant performing arts education programme via the theatre’s Barn Academy and various community and school outreach initiatives.

**About the Senior Producer Role**

The Producer will play a key role in the successful planning and delivery of Barn Theatre productions both at The Barn Theatre in Cirencester and further identifying commercial potential for future life. This includes in-house productions and projects, co-productions and tours.

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**

**Programming**
- Support the CEO/Artistic Director in the programming of works, reading scripts and proposals, workshops, and contributing ideas and feedback to programming meetings.
- Update internal diaries when shows are pencilled and then confirmed to ensure all information is up to date.
- Take minutes at programming and producing meetings when required and completed activity as required.

**Contracting and managing productions**
- Work with directors on recruitment of creative teams, checking availability of freelance artists, making offers to creatives, and working alongside the CEO/Artistic Director to seek overall balance and diversity of creative teams.
- Attend production meetings, read throughs, rehearsals, technical rehearsals and previews as required.
- Prepare and issue contracts (using existing contract templates) for in-house productions, liaising with agents and artists as required.
- Liaise with other interested parties to include co-producers and other venues.
- From time to time, to support freelance casting directors as appropriate in checking availabilities, booking auditions and meetings, and ensuring responses are given to everyone who auditions.
- Delegate or book accommodation and travel for actors, stage managers and creatives working on the show as required.
- Delegate or support the administration of the press nights (including be present at press nights) with tasks such as assigning guest tickets, preparing company gifts and cards, liaising with comms and operations teams to ensure the smooth running of the evening.
- Work with the Company Stage Manager to ensure appropriate paperwork is collected for all freelance artists working at The Barn.
- Support administration of all shows as required.

**Budgeting**
- Prepare budgets for all productions for sign off by the Executive.
- Work with the Finance Team to manage these budgets, comparing forecast and actual expenditure and income.
- Support the producing and finance teams in managing weekly payroll and tracking credit card expenditure.
- Code and process invoices for productions, ensuring show budgets are always up to date.

**Person Specification**
- An interest and experience of all types of theatre.
- Excellent organisation skills, confident in juggling multiple priorities and prioritising effectively to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills both writen and verbal.
- Proactive and able to work on own initiative.
- A commitment to diversity and inclusion and helping to make The Barn a great place to work for all employees and artists.
- Be based in, or willing to relocate to Cirencester or the Southwest.

**Salary**: £28,000 - £35,000 dependent on experience
