**Job summary**:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, qualified radiographer to join the Imaging leadership team and support the delivery of the service. This role is suited to a senior radiographer who has experience in management or is keen to make that next step into Leadership. You would be responsible for the day-to-day organisation, management, supervision and training of clinical staff in Digital Radiography.

**Main duties, tasks & skills required**:
The post holder will be responsible for the management and leadership of the DR Imaging service with responsibility for organising workload and staffing levels. The post holder will ensure operational standards are met to ensure effective service delivery. Effective communication with other modality leads is essential to ensure staffing levels are managed appropriately ensuring a safe, efficient and responsive service.

In addition to the operational management of the Digital Radiography Service, the post holder will be responsible for
- Training and development of staff
- Development and implementation of imaging protocols
- Contribution to research and development
- Participation in extended service
- Promotion of service and Imaging standards
- Completion of rosters (Weekly/shift/bank lockdown)
- Human Resources issues
- Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS) duties

The role at QEHB will provide leadership across the department, working clinically alongside the other imaging team leaders. There will also be a component of non-clinical tasks in order to support the clinical service. It is envisaged that there will be 60:40 split between clinical and non-clinical.

The roles at BHH are mainly clinical posts to work alongside staff, clinical educators and the imaging team leader in order to support the staff and provide a high quality service. These roles will be rotational, working as the Lead for In-patients, ED and Out-patient service.

**Person specification**:
**Qualifications**:
**Essential**:

- General science based education to GCSE and A level with a minimum of 1 science based A level or equivalent.
- D.C.R. (R) or BSc Radiography

**Desirable**:

- Post Graduate qualification / Master's degree and/or relevant experience

**Experience**:
**Essential**:

- Broad range of radiographic experience at a senior level
- Experience of managing a staff group at a senior level
- Evidence of role extension
- Evidence of delivering education & training
- Comprehensive understanding of the requirements of IR (ME) R 2017 and associated legislation

**Desirable**:

- Some experience of budgetary management
- An understanding of the principles of the development and modernisation of the NHS, particularly in relation to imaging and the education of the healthcare workforce
