Winlight Recruitment is recruiting Passenger Assistants (PA) to join its diverse team in Islington, providing accessible and standard transport services in the borough of Islington. The role involves offering door-to-door service to assist vulnerable children and adults traveling to and from on a daily basis.

**Main Duties**:

- Supervise, care for, and ensure the welfare of passengers with special needs during transportation to various destinations.
- Assist drivers in collecting passengers from their designated pick-up addresses and dropping them off at requested destinations, following the journey schedule.
- Monitor passenger well-being and report any changes to the team leader.
- Monitor timetables, inform you team leader of any schedule difficulties, and propose alternatives to resolve issues.
- Ensure passengers are received by authorized individuals upon disembarking from the vehicle.
- Liaise with carers and families as necessary, maintaining professionalism.
- Ensure passengers are seated comfortably and safely, fastening seat belts, and securing wheelchairs if necessary.
- Follow procedures if passengers are not ready for collection or if parents/carers are unavailable for the homeward journey.
- Report incidents or emergencies to the your team leader and carry out Emergency First Aid when required.

**General**:

- Complete duties as part of Win light Recruitment’s passenger transport requirements.
- Work collaboratively with drivers to provide a safe and quality service.
- Work with vulnerable adults or children with special educational needs.
- Follow Winlight Recruitment’s procedures and training modules.
- Assist your team leader in promoting Winlight Recruitment's services to the community.
- May be in sole charge of passengers.
- Undertake other duties as directed by the line manager.

**Essential Criteria**:

- Knowledge of voluntary/charitable sector.
- Experience in passenger assistant duties and possession of a Pats Certificate (preferred).
- Ability to work with children, vulnerable adults, and people with disabilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with drivers and other team members.
- Excellent communication skills with a sensitivity to diverse backgrounds and circumstances.
- Initiative in problem-solving.
- Respect for confidentiality.
- Ability to work positively as part of a team.

**Desirable Criteria**:

- Experience working with vulnerable adults.
- Applicants will undergo checks with past employers and DBS.
- Special Education Needs awareness.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Temporary contract

**Salary**: £13.00-£15.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 20 per week

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Islington: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Delivery driver experience: 1 year (preferred)
